Susan Knepper, PE, is a water resources engineer with over a decade of experience that includes water system master planning, hydraulic modeling, hydraulic calculations, water system optimization studies, asset management, condition assessment, site plan reviews and design, contingency and emergency response planning, and capital improvement planning of water systems.

As OHM Advisors’ Water Distribution Systems Practice Leader, Susan has not only advanced the firm’s modeling, hydraulic analysis, and asset management planning capabilities, but made a significant impact on the industry through her active involvement with the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Her work, including published contributions on emergency response planning for the AWWA Journal, reflects her commitment to sharing knowledge and strengthening the industry. Susan presents extensively, sharing expertise and collaborating with professionals worldwide to help bridge the gap between local and global best practices—and her contributions have advanced drinking water knowledge in Michigan and beyond.

Susan has led and performed modeling analyses for systems of varying size and complexity, including one of Michigan’s largest water distribution networks, and is known for translating technical analysis into clear, actionable strategies for clients. She serves as the lead consultant for the North Oakland County Water Authority (NOCWA), actively participating in Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) outreach meetings and committee efforts, while offering system analysis, emergency planning support, and technical guidance to the board.
