
Mary Vavra, AICP, ASLA, is a Nashville-based principal. She is a professional certified planner, a licensed landscape architect, and LEED Green Associate with extensive experience managing large-scale projects from concept through implementation. Mary’s primary responsibilities include overseeing project execution, managing client relationships, and deepening the firm’s design and planning capabilities in the Middle Tennessee market.
Throughout her nearly 30-year career working closely with a range of public and private clients, Mary has maintained a passion for creating resilient and sustainable communities that promote livability. Her project expertise includes walkable/bikeable mixed-use projects, urban infill and transit-oriented developments, community-wide parks and recreation master plans, blueway, greenway and bikeway master plans, and corridor studies.
Mary is passionate about alternative modes of transportation and has a long history of community involvement that includes being a founding member of Transit Now Nashville. She is the current Board Chair-Elect of the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee. Other previous appointments include the Metro Nashville Traffic and Parking Commission, the Metro Nashville WalknBike Strategic Plan Steering Committee, Mayor Barry’s Livable Nashville Committee, and Mayor Cooper’s Sustainability Advisory Board.
