Vice President of Marketing & Business Development

Laura joined OHM Advisors in 2021 as the firm’s first Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. She leads the creation and implementation of OHM Advisors’ strategic marketing plan for the firm and its multiple disciplines across architecture, engineering and planning consulting services. She oversees a geographically dispersed team of people responsible for all firm marketing, public relations, communications and business development.

Over her 30+ year career in corporate, nonprofit and agency public relations, Laura has focused her expertise on advising leaders in diverse banking, consumer, entertainment, leisure, healthcare, real estate and sports industries and represented some of Detroit’s and Michigan’s most important brands and institutions—including the Detroit Medical Center, the Detroit Pistons, the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, United Way for Southeastern Michigan, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Taubman Centers, Inc, the Center for Community-Based Enterprise and more.

Prior to joining OHM Advisors, for several years she served as the Chief Marketing Officer of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, an organization that convenes business, philanthropic, government and community partners to ensure the implementation of strategic initiatives that evolve with the Detroit community’s changing needs. Her impressive strengths in strategic visioning and brand development and awareness will help position OHM Advisors for continued growth and expansion in new markets.

A native of Detroit, Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in Public Relations and Organizational Communication from Wayne State University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Anthropology. Throughout her career she has been an active board member and leader with multiple Detroit-area community organizations and mentors public school fourth graders as a volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit.
