Architect John Calhoun Talks Design Trends on Nashville NewsChannel5
John Calhoun, principal and firm partner at OHM Advisors, recently appeared on Nashville’s “Welcome Home with Rachel Holder” NewsChannel5 segment to talk about the firm’s work on Tennessee area projects. Calhoun, an industry expert with more than 30 years of experience, has been with the firm since 2017. During the interview, he affirms that being educated in both architecture and interior design allows him to integrate better design with local firms.
Calhoun discusses current design trends in the Nashville area, including repurposing, sustainability, adaptive reuse, historic preservation and rehabilitation—services which OHM Advisors provides its interested clients as part of helping them to advance their communities. He mentions such work in the Gulch and in Lower Broadway, like the newly completed Marriott Moxy Broadway, an adaptive reuse project that converted a storage building into a hotel.
A Nashville resident since 1999, Calhoun is no stranger to its ever-evolving skyline. “It’s been fun to be in Nashville… getting more involved with projects around the neighborhoods. It’s really exciting to see this city grow,” he says.
OHM Advisors has an office in Nashville and does architecture, engineering and planning work throughout the city and surrounding communities. With the expertise of architects like Calhoun, the firm recently won a major project in Franklin and hopes to help advance even more Tennessee communities in the future.
