Village of Dexter, MI wastewater treatment plant upgrades featured Wastewater Systems projectWastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades | Village of Dexter, MI

Through the course of several years of investigations, studies and analyses, it was found that a significant amount of inflow and infiltration (I/I) was entering into the sewer system, taking up valuable wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) capacity. The Village of Dexter authorized OHM Advisors to take the first step in securing grant and loan funding for upgrades to their WWTP. Upon securing funding, the Village contracted with our team to design system improvements to minimize I/I and construct a 400,000 gallon equalization basin.

The equalization basin design included a flow control vault and diversion chamber to overflow excessive wet weather flows to the equalization basin and a new sanitary pump station to return the flow to the WWTP during normal flows. A new back-up generator system was added along with new controls and telemetry to streamline operations and maintenance efforts.

Technical Expertise

Sherri Wright, PE, Senior Engineer

Sherri has experience specializing in the analysis, development, design, and construction of infrastructure facilities for municipalities. She is a project manager responsible for report writing, contract document preparation and owner/agency liaison services during the design of wastewater collection/treatment facilities and water distribution/treatment facilities.

Sherri provides construction contract administration and contractor liaison services during construction of these projects and writes performance certifications after completion.
