Your Partner from Concept to Construction

Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning

Our comprehensive approach to Transportation Engineering blends public involvement with engineering analysis, context sensitive design environmental compliance, to yield projects that are buildable and fundable.

The more the public understands the trade-offs of a project, the more buy-in and excitement is generated. Our staff has a proven ability to make even the most complex engineering issues understandable and engaging to the public.

Roadways and Highways

Context sensitive design is a priority for us. Our designs relate to the surrounding physical environment.

They also consider all segments of the traveling public, including public transportation, bicyclists, pedestrians, visually, hearing or physically impaired users, commercial and emergency vehicles and commuting motorists.

Bridges and Structures

OHM Advisors’ bridge design engineers and technicians design and inspect bridges, dams, culverts, retaining walls and other structural components.

We combine cutting edge software, insightful analysis and practical experience to solve problems and stretch your dollars. Our bridge design team is known for sound analysis, bridge rehabilitation and bridge replacement on all types and sizes of structures.

Multimodal Transportation Engineering

Urban bike lanes. Multi-use trails. Transit corridors. Converted alleyways. They all work together to enhance transportation within communities. And we’re pros at creating them all – and more.

We put our know-how to use to create a more synergistic transportation network with easier flow that seamlessly integrates existing roadways. The result? Creative solutions from our award-winning planners and engineers for facilities that are safe and efficient for all users.

Project Spotlight

Northwestern Connector Triangle | Oakland County, MI

This project was a key part of a $40M solution to relieve traffic congestion, improve safety and connectivity in the “triangle” area of Oakland County.

Northwestern Connector Triangle Project featured Transportation project
It included construction of a high-volume, multi-lane roundabout and reconfiguration of 1.3 miles of roadway at the convergence of Northwestern Highway (M-10) and Orchard Lake Road near 14 Mile Road in Oakland County, MI.

Requiring significant stakeholder engagement, application of custom traffic modeling methods, and right-of-way/utility avoidance, the project provides capacity for 80,000 vehicles per day, while promoting walkability and economic vitality in a major commercial area of Oakland County.

"We continue to be impressed with the expertise and innovative solutions of the OHM Advisors team. Their ability to serve as an honest advisor is commendable, and they continually cultivate solutions that respond to the needs of the community, validated by solid analysis. It is evident they truly care about the communities they work within."
