Municipal Engineering

Building Better Communities

There’s a reason we’re a firm of proven trusted advisors. Our mission, Advancing Communities, is more than a slogan. It’s a testament to more than five decades of creating extraordinary relationships with you: our clients. In our early days as a municipal engineering firm that grew into the community advancement firm we are today – with architects, engineers, planners and more – we have clients who have been with us from the day we opened our doors.

Over time, we’ve been able to play a role in developing growing communities and redeveloping those with a rich history. Along the way, we get to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We get the pride of ‘being part of the team’ when a sleepy ‘burgh like Pontiac Township becomes the bustling home of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and Chrysler’s world headquarters.

From Planning to Construction

We know local government and the challenges they face. For more than 50 years, we’ve been advising municipal governments with their long and short-term infrastructure needs. We specialize in capital planning, feasibility studies, plan review and design for civil and environmental projects. Whether it’s assistance with land development processes, design of a bike path, utility systems in need of analysis and prioritization or just a lack of staff to meet the needs of your department, our experts can help.

"Our municipal relationships are unique – and they run deep. To us, the advancement of communities is much more than just doing a project. It's looking at how a project interfaces with the long-term needs of the community; bringing the public-private sides together; showing clients how to advance their community to long-term sustainable success. It's not about singular project success, it's about community success."
