Brecksville, Ohio – OHM Advisors has earned its very first ranking in Trenchless Technology magazine’s 2014 Top 50 Trenchless Design Firms in North America. The firm ranked at 36, with 176 projects from 2008-2013 and $25 million in trenchless billings for 2013.
Trenchless Technology is a fast-growing and non-traditional method of installing and rehabilitating underground infrastructure. Requiring less trench excavation, it provides the benefit of minimal surface disruptions, which can amount to greater community buy-in and overall cost savings. There are several methods of applying the technology which are determined by existing utility condition, soil conditions and other factors.
Last year, OHM Advisors Construction Manager, Gary Smolinski spoke on alternative construction delivery methods such as pipe bursting at the Underground Construction Technology conference in Texas, at the Great Lakes Horizontal Directional Drilling Association of Ohio, and at the University of Michigan. This spring, Gary was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Midwest Society for Trenchless Technology.
Gary said, “We’ve become quite adept at the leveraging this technology to help clients more efficiently maintain and operate their public utility systems. Moreover, our innovative solutions provide a means for our clients to minimize costs and lessen the social and environmental impacts within our communities. Our trenchless project base and involvement with associations like the NASTT contributes to our recognition as leaders and experts.”
