Architecture, engineering and planning consulting firm OHM Advisors is pleased to announce the addition of three new shareholders: John Katers, PE, Gregory Kacvinsky, PE, and Aaron Domini. All were elected to the 53-year-old firm’s ownership group in December 4, 2014.
John Katers, PE
Project Manager, Livonia, MI
John Katers is dedicated to finding innovative solutions to today’s transportation challenges. During his 14-year career, John developed an expertise in the area of complex roadway, modern roundabout and interchange design. With deep knowledge of roadway and non-motorized safety best practices and State DOT procedures, he is the lead for two of the firm’s largest transportation projects. These projects include Michigan’s first Diverging Diamond Interchange, located at I-75 and University Drive in Auburn Hills, and the Northwestern Connector in Oakland County. John began his career in 1999 as an engineering intern at OHM Advisors and was named the firm’s Employee of the Year in 2013. He is an appointed member of the City of Livonia Traffic Commission and a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Program.
Greg Kacvinsky, PE
Project Manager, Livonia, MI
Greg Kacvinsky has 20 years of engineering consulting experience. A shareholder with his previous firms, Greg has business savvy and technical expertise. Greg joined our Water Resources Group as a Project Manager in 2011, bringing extensive knowledge of stormwater and wastewater collections system. He took a lead role in educating communities about the various funding opportunities available through Michigan’s $450 million SAW Grant programs last year, drawing on his previous experience with asset management and funding studies. As a result, OHM Advisors assisted over 30 communities, many of them new clients, with their SAW Grant applications. This effort will benefit dozens of OHM clients for many years to come. Greg is on the Board of Directors of the Clinton River Watershed Council and is the Chair of the Michigan Water Environment Association Watershed Committee. He received his civil engineering degree for the University of Wisconsin and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
Senior Planner, Columbus, OH
Aaron Domini has a passion for transforming communities. His 12 years of professional planning experience includes work with both private consulting firms and the public sector. Since joining OHM Advisors five years ago, he has grown the firm’s public planning practice significantly – opening up new markets and doubling staff and revenue during the that timeframe. Aaron’s a frequent speaker and author on topics such as creative public engagement practices and market led redevelopment. He is an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture, a member of the American Planning Master’s Program.
