Gahanna Gateways and I-270/Hamilton Road Beautification

The purpose of the gateway initiative is to create a recognizable identity for Gahanna, Ohio at key entry points to the city. As such, our team created a detailed design development package for streetscape beautification that celebrates Gahanna’s unique attributes. Implementation of the initiative is phased, but includes the completion of streetscape enhancements to a primary entry point at Hamilton Road and I-270. Design elements such as a distinctive signage guardrail for the bridge overpass on I-270, a raised median jersey wall, and up-lit trees and shrub plantings create a unique and attractive interchange/streetscape. Additional plantings were added to the landscape as part of OSU’s “Greening the Highways” planting study for which the site was chosen.
