Calumet Readiness Center
Department of Management and Budget selected OHM selected for the design and construction administration of a single unit, 38,400 square foot, 4.2 million dollar Readiness Center with separate motor vehicle storage building (MVSB), located in Calumet, Michigan. The facility contains functional spaces that include administration area, classrooms, unit storage, unit arms room, multi-purpose drill hall and unit maintenance area.

U.S. 23 & Lee Road Dual Roundabout Interchange
The US-23/Lee Road roundabout project won the 2008 Eminent Conceptor Award for engineering excellence from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Michigan. This competition evaluates projects on "complexity, innovation, client satisfaction, future value to the profession, and considerations for social, economic and sustainable design”. OHM performed construction engineering and engineering review for this first-in-the-nation design, which includes the first dual roundabout interchange.

US 12 - APWA’s 2007 Project of the Year
Completed just in time for the spotlight of the NFL Superbowl to shine on Detroit, the US 12 (Michigan Avenue) Reconstruction Project transformed a historic thoroughfare. Designed and constructed in four two-mile segments, the $57 million project had tremendous impact on Wayne County. The reconstruction of US 12 from western county line, through the City of Dearborn and the City of Detroit is moving Michigan citizens to our future: smooth, beautiful highways, planned development, green space, clean water, and vibrant, attractive, safe and accessible downtown areas.

City of Ypsilanti 04-05 Infrastructure Renewal Project
OHM worked with the City to design a $40 million program replacing much of the City’s infrastructure, including 70% of all watermains, 90% of all local roads, and 35% of the major road network. The Results: The City of Ypsilanti reported the largest increase in property values over the last two years in all of fast-growing Washtenaw County. Facility Management Application
OHM’s Information Technology experts developed a web-based Facility Management program designed to facilitate management of OHM’s equipment (computers, monitors, printers and phones), vehicles, cubes and offices (including data and voice ports) and software licensing. Using this program, OHM manages resources efficiently, while ensuring that our staff, whether located in Livonia, Lansing or Houghton, has the necessary tools for the different activities within the company.

I-94 Construction Engineering Services
OHM was excited to be on HNTB’s team for this high-profile CE project. With the City of Detroit playing host to both the 2005 Major League Baseball All Star game and the upcoming 2006 NFL Super Bowl, the pressure was on to maintain the project’s schedule and produce great results for the city. Gladstone Medical Clinic
MGH hired OHM to provide professional architectural and engineering services for its new Marquette Medical Clinic in Gladstone, Michigan. Services in the Gladstone facility include an outpatient procedure room, a medical lab and exam rooms with a dedicated reception and waiting area. The goal of the facility design was to create an environment that would reduce anxiety in the patients and their families. Soft lighting, colorful materials and spaces sized to a personal scale create a sense of familiarity for children. Hitch provided complete A/E services, including architectural design, civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering, as well as soils exploration.

Baldwin Road at Indianwood / Coats Road Roundabout
This Orion Township project was the first two-lane roundabout in southeast Michigan, replacing a Y-shaped intersection with uneven traffic patterns. Before designing and building the roundabout, OHM conducted an extensive evaluation to compare the relative safety and capacity benefits for a variety of alternative improvements. The roundabout proved to be the safest and most efficient roadway enhancement.

Project Insite
OHM developed Project Insite, a database application for site reviews and site design projects. This easy-to-use web-based application increased efficiency in gathering and reporting project information, saving time and money. Project Insite includes: file sharing, integration with OHM’s accounting information, a web interface with a map and tools for improved analysis featuring charts and reports. Custom versions of this application were built for the cities of Auburn Hills, Rochester Hills, Farmington Hills, Westland, and Romulus, as well as Orion, Ypsilanti, Superior, Scio, Huron, and Marion townships.
