For three days, hundreds of local officials from across the state will have an opportunity to connect, engage and discover creative solutions to local challenges. This year’s focus centers around ‘Building Better Organizations: Meeting the Challenges of the Changing Landscape of Municipal Management.’

You will hear from visionary keynote speakers on topics ranging from anchor institutions and community partnerships to local businesses and civic crowdfunding. Breakout sessions will give you a chance to dive into strategic topics like infrastructure funding trends in Michigan and telling your municipal story through storymapping.

OHMer Aaron Domini, principal and senior planner, presents ‘Smart Perspectives: A National View of the Challenges and Opportunities Surrounding Smart Cities’ during the 3:15 – 4:45 p.m. session on Wednesday, January 31. Courtney Nicholls, City Manager from the City of Dexter, MI will serve as moderator for this future-focused discussion.

Aaron is instrumental in advancing the Smart Cities initiative for OHM Advisors, taking shape to advise our clients how to use the Internet of things to gather data, connect components across the city and impact multiple departments or services in order to improve people’s quality of life.
