GIS Day is a global event celebrating the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). It provides an international forum for users of GIS technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.
This year, we’ll celebrate GIS Day at the University of Michigan – Dearborn, providing students, faculty, staff, and the community with the opportunity to explore, share and learn about the application of geographic information systems to problems that affect the environment and community.
Mike Cousins, our GIS Manager, will be on hand demonstrating our future-forward use of Augmented Reality applications. With these applications, our GIS experts can load in utilities, buildings, plans, and other geospatial data, and view it all in real space and real time – within real surroundings.
